  • Why did you create Hawk Eye?

    We created Hawk eye to help fight Crime and prevent the spread of terrorism across Africa and the world. One of the challenges of security in Africa is funding, terrorist has realized that, and are making Africa a destination. Products such as Hawk Eye when creatively funded can help reduce crime while reducing the financial burden on the government. It is the best approach to implementing security in Africa as sustainability is a critical part of maintaining security in the continent.

  • Who Created Hawk Eye and is it owned by police?

    Hawk Eye was built by a US-based technology company. BBGN&K LLC. The company is the parent company to Web Asset Nigeria Limited which now provide services to the Nigeria Police Force. Web Asset has licensed the technology to the Nigeria Police Force for use in perpetuity. There are many business processes on the Hawk eye some of which came from various police department across Africa which has helped to build the system specifically as it relates to crime and behavior patterns in Africa.

  • What is iPolice and what is Hawk eye?

    iPolice is the enterprise side of the system, it is used by police and not available to the public. It includes the dispatching system, integrated mobile device terminal installed on patrol vehicles, police and crime management tools, such as Key performance Indicators (KPI) which help police management to have necessary data at their disposal for decision making.

  • There are other or similar technologies being promoted in Nigeria are these also part of Hawk Eye?

    We are aware of the other products and many are still appearing daily, this is a healthy development for security. Competition breed healthy development and innovation. While we welcome them, Hawk Eye holds a 20-year patent in Nigeria and has applied for the same in many countries across Africa. Many, if not all these systems in some ways do violate our patent and we are serving each appropriate notice as we see fit. Our hope is that they will each seek the appropriate license grant from us to continue to operate in Nigeria and other markets where we have been granted patent.

  • Some of the systems that have been promoted by police require subscription with monthly or annual payments, does Hawk eye require payments or subscriptions?

    iPolice- Hawk Eye is completely free and available to all users in Android and iOS, Download is free and the use is free. No subscription or payment required.

  • How is Hawk Eye funded?

    We have different licensing plan that every government may choose from. However, the system is free to every user. The system is maintained and serviced through corporate advertisers and sponsors. We publish non- intrusive advertisement to users while sharing reports with friends or viewing reports shared by others.  Corporation also support the system through their CSR program to help maintain the equipment and hardware used by the police.

  • Will trust issues and bad relationship between police and public prevent or reduce the use of Hawk Eye?

    Contra, we believe Hawk-Eye will enhance not reduce the trust issues between police and public anywhere in Africa, there are communication tools on the iPolice-Hawk eye system designed to enhance public trust. Global Announcement platform which allows police to communicate with the public in terms of emergency or provide notification to the public to avoid danger will enhance public trust in the police system across Africa. Ability to quickly search for missing person, r respond to the FindMe will equally bridge the GAP.

  • What is FindMe and how to does it work?

    FindMe is a tool to help you remain safe and to keep your family informed about your safety. It allows you to press a button that alerts authority of your emergency or notify family members or friend group which you have created on the App that you ae in danger. Your location is transmitted every 60 seconds until it is disabled.  Each police department can determine if such alert should be directed to police or emergency groups created by the user.

  • Is the Facial Recognition Technology intrusive and how accurate is it?

    Facial recognition technology can be intrusive depending on how it is deployed or used. Facial recognition is used at the street level simply to see if there is a certain percent match with data already in the system. It is only when a person is stopped by an officer during response to or investigation of a crime. Facial recognition s also used when users send in images of missing or most wanted criminals, command center can quickly run facial recognition match for dispatching decisions. While the accuracy is question by many experts, it is used simply to identify solely for decision making and to remove habitual criminal off the streets. The accuracy is determined by matching threshold set by the police management to warrant physical identification. Matching threshold could be set at 50% of higher, once the threshold is reached then a physical identification will be done to determine if arrest is warranted.

  • How does Hawk eye/Police know the video or image I am sending is correct?

    Don’t even try it! Our technology embeds location information on every video or image, so if your location and the location data on your image/video is not matching or missing, don’t be surprised if your report is rejected by the system.  

  • How does Hawk Eye help stop spread of terrorism?

    Hawk eye also provide Interpol services which allow police to track and apprehend criminal across countries. Criminal or terrorist operating across country can easily be apprehended using the global announcement system on the Hawk Eye enterprise system.

  • How do I Report Crime on Hawk Eye?

    There are 3 ways to report a crime on Hawk Eye

    1. File Report – this would allow the user not requiring immediate police response to file crime reports for investigation, attach evidence, documents, image, and photo.
    2. Request Response – Will promptly open your camera to capture the crime you are witnessing either by video or photo, provide the location of the crime and the information you have captured or recorded for transmission to police command and control for dispatch.
    3. Call for Help – Call to the police command center to speak to an officer for immediate response to your request.

  • Can Police know who reported a crime?

    Reporting Crime with Hawk Eye is totally anonymous, it does not capture your name, phone or other information. We, however, warn the user not to abuse the system as it does record the IMEI number of each phone form which a report is filed. This information can ultimately be used to track those who abuse the system as IMEI numbers are registered in most countries.
